METHOD FOR OBTAINING REDUCTASE GENE AND REDUCTASE GENE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a gene encoding a reductase.

SOLUTION: The method for obtaining a reductase gene includes (1) a process for using a primer set consisting of a nucleic acid fragment composed of a specific base sequence and a nucleic acid fragment composed of another specific base sequence, and performing a nucleic acid amplification reaction using a DNA library as a template to obtain an amplification product, (2) a process for inserting the amplification product to a vector to be connected to a functional promoter in a functionable form in a host cell to construct a recombinant vector, (3) a process for transferring the recombinant vector to the host cell to prepare a transformant and (4) a process for using the transformant or a treated material thereof to detect that the transformant or the treated material thereof has activity of asymmetrically reducing a carbonyl compound into an optically active alcohol.
