<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a servo motor control apparatus of low cost, being adaptive to various interfaces. <P>SOLUTION: A control board 3 includes a CPU 8, a first serial interface 9 adaptive to a predetermined standard serial communication specification for communication with an encoder 6, a second serial interface 10 having the same specification as the first serial interface 9 for communicating with a linear scale head 7, and a first level conversion circuit 11 for connecting the first serial interface 9 for the encoder 6.
