PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for coating magnesia slurry by which a coating operability to a grain oriented silicon steel sheet is improved, then consequently the film homogeneity of the grain oriented silicon steel sheet is improved. SOLUTION: When magnesia slurry is applied to a grain oriented silicon steel sheet, till the application to the steel sheet after obtaining the slurry, the slurry is passed through an orifice in which one or more openings with a cross-sectional area of 1 to 400 mm<SP>2</SP>are opened for one or more times in the range of 5.0×10<SP>-3</SP>to 2.0×10<SP>-1</SP>l/min-mm<SP>2</SP>by the passing flow rate of the magnesia slurry per opening.
