PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current output circuit which suppresses an increase in power consumption by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: The current output circuit includes: a switching power supply 6 which is connected to one end of a load resistor Rl, and feeds a power supply voltage to the load resistor Rl according to the on/off-operation of a switching transistor Q1; and a current output transistor Q2 having a collector connected to the other end of the load resistor Rl, and an emitter grounded via an output sense resistor R2. A comparator U1 compares a voltage between the collector of the current output transistor Q2 and the load resistor Rl with a voltage of a triangle wave signal generated at a triangle wave generator 5, on/off-controls the switching transistor Q1 at an on/on-rate corresponding to the comparison of both the voltages, and thus controls the power supply voltage supplied to the load resistor Rl.
