PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a louver that certainly prevents light from leaking to the outside and has high flexibility in design, and a projection type video display device having it. SOLUTION: The angle θ<SB>1</SB>(θ<SB>2</SB>) formed between a first louver body 64 (second louver body 74) and an opening surface of a first opening 63 (second opening 73) is 0°<θ<SB>1</SB>(θ<SB>2</SB>)<90°. The surface including a tip 64a (74a) of the first louver body (second louver body 74) and a second opening end 63b (73b) of the first opening 63 (second opening 73) is set to be perpendicular to the opening surface 63 (73).
