PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ascending/descending toilet bowl which does not only have excellent usability but also secures safety. SOLUTION: The ascending/descending toilet bowl 1 includes a toilet bowl ascending/descending device, a toilet bowl body 10 which can be ascended and descended in the toilet bowl ascending/descending device, and a detection portion 100 for detecting the presence/absence of a human body. The ascending/descending toilet bowl does not only make usability excellent but also secures safety by automatically ascending and descending the toilet bowl body 10 to a preset height after the detection portion 100 detects the absence of the human body in an area where the toilet bowl body 10 is ascended and descended.
