PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a smoke-emitting fire extinguishing agent which includes a simple and reliable ignition means to a fire extinguishing composition, instantly activates the fire extinguishing composition, and releases powdered aerosol fire extinguishing agent. SOLUTION: The smoke-emitting fire extinguishing agent is equipped with: an ignition agent having an oxidant 10, such as potassium permanganate, and a highly-viscous liquid oxidizable substance 4b, such as glycerin; and the fire extinguishing composition which is ignited by the ignition agent and burns for releasing the powdered aerosol. The oxidant and the oxidizable substance are separately stored in respective containers. Heat is produced by bringing both of them into contact with each other on a surface of the fire extinguishing composition to turn the fire extinguishing composition ignited.
