摘要 <p>An elevator system having a regenerative elevator drive and an electrical or mechanical energy storage system includes an energy management controller. Voltage and state-of-charge of the energy storage system are monitored by the energy management controller. During sustained marginal quality power conditions of the primary input power to the elevator, the energy management controller maintains and extends operation of the elevator system by selecting a mode of operation where the motor of the elevator is powered by the energy storage system, while using power available from the grid and the elevator regenerative runs for charging the energy storage system. The energy management controller may delay elevator runs, reduce elevator speeds, temporarily shut down elevator operation, and adjust operating limits of the energy storage system based upon line voltage, state-of-charge, elevator loading, and power requirements of the elevator system.</p>
