摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an orthodontic bracket 10 for making an arc 20 into connect with teeth. <P>SOLUTION: The orthodontic bracket 10 includes a ceramic injection molded (CIM) bracket body 12 that includes an archwire slot 18 constructed so that it may accept the archwire 20. The CIM bracket body 12 includes polycrystalline ceramics. A coating 14 made of alumina or silicon dioxide is in continuous and direct contact with at least the surface of the archwire slot 18. The orthodontic bracket 10 is characterized by unexpectedly high torque strength. As the orthodontic bracket is featured in an unexpectedly high destruction resistance or destruction resistant toughness, the ceramic injection molded (CIM) bracket body 12 can contain polycrystalline ceramic particles having a grain distribution characterized by their average size ranging from 3.4 &mu;m to about 6 &mu;m. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
