<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for applying a liquid by which the liquid such as an adhesive can be applied on a predetermined area of a rubber member thinly and uniformly in thickness. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A transfer medium 7 formed by making a belt like porous body into an annular shape is supported by a support roller 3a provided in a support frame 3, the adhesive L is held on holes of the transfer medium 7 with surface tension by rotating the transfer medium 7 in the annular peripheral direction by a rotation means 4 while dipping a part of the annular transfer medium 7 in the adhesive L stored in a storing part 11, and the transfer medium 7, on which the adhesive L is held, is allowed to face in parallel to and is brought into contact with the coating surface R1 of the rubber member R while the transfer medium 7 is rotated in the annular peripheral direction, thereby transferring the adhesive L held on the transfer medium 7 onto the coating surface R1.
