<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that easily divides printing pages while displaying previews of the read-out original documents when carrying out printing allotment. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus (digital multifunction machine 1 shown as an example) includes a preview image generating unit 16a for generating preview images of printing object image data and display control unit for displaying the preview images on a displaying unit. The multifunction machine 1 allows an operating unit to set allotment requirements as printing requirements for allotting one sheet and printing a plurality of original documents. The display control unit allows the operating unit to selectively display an insertion key for inserting the image data corresponding to a blank original document at a page being displayed as a preview image when displaying the preview image relating to the image data generated as a result of reading-out the original document as a printing job for which allotment requirements are determined.
