<p>A method for manufacturing an organic electroluminescent element which comprises, between a pair of electrodes, at least one organic layer including a light-emitting layer. At least one organic layer contains at least one kind of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or salt of the metals. During or after film formation of the organic layer containing at least one kind of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or salt of the metals, the method comprises a heat treatment step wherein a heat treatment is carried out at a temperature not less than 50°C but not more than the melting point of the organic layer containing at least one kind of alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or salt of the metals, or alternatively a current application step wherein a current is applied.</p> |
