PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for specifically labelling only a target protein by modifying a specific probe to the target protein, a method for labelling a membrane protein in which its N-terminal end exists extracellularly, a cell having a membrane protein specifically modified by the method, and a method for screening using the cell.

SOLUTION: There is disclosed a method for creating a membrane protein with a labelled N-terminal end, wherein the method is featured by using a labelled molecular probe in which a membrane protein having LPX1X2(G)nsequence (X1is an optional amino acid, and X2represents threonine or alanine. n is any one of an integer from 2 to 8.) in a region of N-terminal side and having an N-terminal end extracellularly existing, a peptide transferring enzyme Sortase A, and LPX1X2(G)msequence (X1is an optional amino acid, and X2represents threonine or alanine. m is 1 or 2.) are added.
