<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device having diverse functions utilizing an array of semiconductor stacked-layer bodies and a wiring structure for a light-emitting structure. <P>SOLUTION: The light-emitting device includes: first and second semiconductor stacked-layer bodies each having first and second conductivity-type semiconductor layers and an active layer therebetween; first and second contacts formed on both surfaces of the first and second semiconductor stacked-layer bodies so as to be connected to the first and second conductivity-type semiconductor layers, respectively; a substrate structure in which the first and second semiconductor stacked-layer bodies are embedded, mutually separated, in such a way that the first conductivity-type semiconductor layer is exposed through one surface; an insulating layer formed in regions except the second contact forming regions; conductive layers formed so as to be connected to the second contacts of the first and second semiconductor stacked-layer bodies and extending along the insulating layer so as to possess exposed regions on one surface of the substrate structure; a wiring layer formed on one surface of the substrate structure and connecting the exposed regions of the conductive layers relating to the second and first semiconductor stacked-layer bodies to the first contacts of the first and second semiconductor stacked-layer bodies, respectively; and external connection terminals formed so as to be connected to the first and second contacts, respectively, of the first semiconductor stacked-layer body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
