<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a cap for an optical fiber connector for achieving efficient work in an optical fiber connector and reliably protecting the top end face of an optical fiber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The cap 10 is removably attached to the optical fiber connector 40. The cap 10 has a cleaning member 12 for cleaning the top end face 42S of an optical fiber 48. The cleaning member 12 includes a planar elastic member 16 and a cleaning cloth 18 stuck to the elastic member 16. In a movement of attaching the cap 10 to the connector, the cleaning member 12 touches the top end face 42S of the optical fiber 42 to clean the face 42S.
