The device has a container (1) arranged in a ground surface (13) lying below water. The container is partially upwardly opened and includes a circular edge (18), which rests on the ground surface and/or partially penetrated into the ground surface. A suction area (19) of a suction pump (2) is arranged in an interior of the container in proximity to the ground surface. An opening (3) is formed at an upper side of the container and permits penetration of a drilling rod (6). A tube line (4) is guided from the pump to a water level (14). An independent claim is also included for a method for extracting drilled goods in boreholes.
