Method for calibrating the gain factors of the sensor pixels in an interferometer

The method involves developing an interferogram by creating a finite number of path differences. Other shifted interferograms are developed by shifting the path differences of the former interferogram such that three samples positioned on a sinusoidal portion are obtained for each path difference. A function coinciding with the sinusoidal portion is determined by interpolation. A calibration coefficient for one of the path differences is determined from the function coinciding with the sinusoidal portion. An independent claim is also included for a measuring instrument including a detection matrix for acquiring an image of an interferogram.
