<p>[PROBLEMS]To provide an optical-film laminate roll for heightening precision and speed in the production of liquid-crystal display elements and attaining a drastic improvement in yield.[MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS]The laminate roll of an optical film is for use in an apparatus for continuously producing liquid-crystal display elements. The optical film comprises: a polarizing film which comprises a laminate composed of a continuous polarizer layer and a protective film superposed on one side of the continuous layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on one side of the laminate; and a carrier film superposed on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of the polarizing film in a freely peelable state. In the polarizing film, defective and normal regions have been determined based on the positions of defects detected. According to the defective and normal regions of the polarizing film, coded information including cutting position information which specifies the position where a cut line is to be formed in the continuous optical-film web with a cutter of the continuous-production apparatus has been recorded on the continuous web. The coded information is constituted so that it can be read by a reader of the continuous-production apparatus.</p> |
