PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for position measurement are provided to position accuracy by shortening a time for measuring location. CONSTITUTION: A GPS receiver(120) receives a GPS signal. The GPS receiver produces a current position. A mobile broadcasting receiver(110) receives a mobile broadcasting signal. The mobile broadcasting signal comprises a gap filler ID. A mobile broadcasting receiver extracts the gap filler ID. A memory unit(160) stores the location information according to the gap filler ID. A controller(130) compares the gap filler ID with the location information of a memory unit and confirms a current location. The controller selects GPS satellites and calculates the current location by using the selected GPS satellite. |
