<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold an adequate strength of cutting parts of a lead frame at connection bases to solve the problem that the connection base is easily deformed or cut off to damage a mounting part or metallized wiring conductors, etc., or a metallized layer is peeled off to cause the wire breaking or short circuit, etc., and improve the strength of outer lead terminals against twist transformation. SOLUTION: The lead frame comprises a flat plate-like connection base 5a, a plurality of mutually approximately parallel outer lead terminals 5 extending from the edge of the connection base 5a, and tie bars 5b provided on the top ends of the outer lead terminals 5. The outer terminal terminals 5 have cutting parts 5c near their connection bases 5b. The portion of the outer lead terminal 5 from the cutting part 5c to the connection base 5a is wider than that from the cutting part 5c to the die bar 5b. The cutting part 5c is composed of arcuate notches 12 formed into the widthwise sides of the outer lead terminal 5 and grooves 11 formed between the notches 12, without contacting the notches 12.</p> |
