<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of deciding the kind of a ballast for a fluorescent lamp and a deciding device used for the same capable of easily deciding the kind of the ballast used for the fluorescent lamp. <P>SOLUTION: The deciding device has an imaging part 5, fetching in the light of the fluorescent lamp at a shutter frequency different from that of the light-emitting frequency of the fluorescent lamp, and a display part 9 displaying the image introduced. The kind of the ballast used for a fluorescent lamp is identified by fetching the light of the fluorescent lamp at the shutter frequency which is different from the frequency of the light emitted from the fluorescent lamp, and observing the pattern of brightness caused by the frequency difference between the frequency of emitted light and the shutter frequency. When the pattern of brightness is observed, it is decided that the ballast is copper-iron type; if not, it is decided that the ballast is inverter type. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
