Process for separation of a fraction of highly active catalyst particles from a mixture of different active catalyst particles by the steps: mixing of the catalyst mixture with a gas bubble forming agent, adsorption of the gas bubbles at least partially at the catalyst particles, and removal of a first fraction of the catalyst particles forced up to the surface from the solution.
