A display control apparatus controlling luminous intensity in a display screen so that luminous intensity of the display screen displayed at a first frame rate is higher than luminous intensity of the display screen displayed at a second frame rate that is higher than the first frame rate. The display control apparatus identifies pixels showing luminosity higher than a predetermined value in the image (S22), and depending on location of the pixels showing luminosity higher than the predetermined value, the display control apparatus determines a region displayed at the first frame rate and a region displayed at the second frame rate (S25, S26).
