Device and method for controlling a power of several lights

A device for controlling a power of several lights is provided. The device has three inputs: a first phase, a second and a third phase input for receiving a power from a first phase, a second phase and third phase voltage from an external power supply. Furthermore, it has several outputs: each output is connected via a switch with a phase input. The switches are grouped and the device is constructed to switch on an substantially equal number of switches as to divide the load of the lights equally over the different phases of the power supply and to distribute the increase (or decrease) of illumination evenly across a room.
