PURPOSE: A polycrystalline ceramic orthodontic bracket and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent a damage of the bracket while handling, installing and using for a clinical purpose. CONSTITUTION: A polycrystalline ceramic orthodontic bracket(10) comprises the following: a ceramic injection molded(CIM) bracket main body(12) including an arch wire slot to receive an arch wire inside; and a first film(14) formed with alumina or silicon dioxide contacting the CIM bracket main body including the surface of the arch wire slot. The CIM bracket main body includes a polycrystalline ceramic. The first film includes a microstructure with the average particle size smaller than the average particle size of the polycrystalline ceramic. |
