PURPOSE: A method and a device for manufacturing an exhaust gas purification device are provided to increase the OFA(Open Frontal Area) of a filter by inserting a plug to the set length. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an exhaust gas purification device the steps of: injecting a plugging member in order to form plugs(310,320) closing a channel inlet formed in a filter body, injecting a polymer compound in the channel inlet to insert the plugs to the set length toward an outlet, and removing the injected polymer compound.
