PURPOSE: A backlight assembly, and a liquid crystal assembly having the same are provided to uniformly distribute the light emitted from a light source to an LGP. CONSTITUTION: A first reception container(100) includes a bottom plate and at least one sidewall unit(120), wherein the sidewall unit is extended on the bottom plate in a vertical direction and has an opening(130). A light source(300) is formed on a first plane of a PCB(Printed Circuit Board) and emits light through the opening. An LGP(Light Guide Plate)(400) is placed on the bottom plate of the first reception container and receives the light emitted from the light source.
