A plate 1 of, for example, cardboard or hardboard is provided with spring blades 3 for attaching it to the sun visor of a motor car, the plate 1 having preferably a lining of leather, plastic or textile material, and holding means for various articles are so mounted on one side of the plate 1 that, when the visor is in a lowered position, the articles are available for the use of a person in the car using one hand only. The holding means comprise spring clips 4, which may be adjustable for holding a packet of cigarettes P, a pair of cord loops 7 and 8 for holding a writing pad W, a sleeve. 9 for holding a pencil B, a pouch 10 for holding spectacles, and a strip of material 13 for holding a book of matches. Additional holding means may be provided, and a large pocket, a section of which could be closed by a zip fastener, may be formed between the front of the plate and a sheet of lining material upon which the holding means may be mounted. The spring blades may be replaced by pivoted spring-biased arms, coiled steel springs or magnetic material secured to the plate, or the plate 1, provided with holding means as above described and suitably fixed to a motor car, may itself form a sun visor.
