PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the transmittance of light which passes through an LCD layer by blocking a fringe field infringing on a pixel region. CONSTITUTION: A data line intersects a gate line, and a switching element switches the gate line and the data line electrically. A gate insulation film is formed on the gate line, and a protection layer(120) is formed on the switching element. A shielding electrode(170) is formed on the protection layer and is overlapped with the data line to shield a fringe field. A pixel electrode(190) is connected to the switching element and formed on the insulation layer and includes a micro slit pattern.
