PURPOSE: An LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device and a method for fabricating a light guide plate are provided to reduce power consumption by excluding the power for creating unnecessary light. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(20) includes plural display regions, and a backlight comprises plural light emission regions, and is arranged below the LCD panel. The backlight includes an LGP(Light Guide Plate)(100) arranged in at least two regions and a driving unit. The driving unit adjusts the strength of the light emitted from the each light emitting region. The light source is arranged at a groove formed at the lower portion of the LGP and emits the light toward an inner plane of the groove.
