METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSPORTING A OPTICAL SIGNAL

PURPOSE: A client signal transmitting device, a subordinate slot mapping/demapping apparatus in client signal transmission and a method thereof are provided to control a bandwidth by increasing data capacity allocated to a subordinate slot with expansion of a mapping area. CONSTITUTION: A subordinate slot allocation unit(10) assigns a partial area among a payload area of an OTH(Optical Transport Hierarchy) signal to subordinate slots of preset number equally. The subordinate slot allocation unit assigns the remaining area to an additional subordinate slot of a fixed stuff bite. An optical multiplexing unit(12) accepts a client signal through the allocated subordinate slots and the client signal through the additional subordinate slots. The optical multiplexing unit multiplexes the client signal to the optical transport hierarchy signal of an upper layer.
