OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM WITH WRITE-ONCE AND REWRITABLE PROPERTIES

PURPOSE: An optical recording medium with write-once and rewritable properties is provided to be able to be at least partially rewritable as well as writable once. CONSTITUTION: An optical recording medium(1) comprises a recording layer. The recording layer comprises a first recording sub layer(R1) and a second recording sub layer(R2). The recording layer records an information mark(3) by combining the materials of the first and second sub layers. A phase change material adapted to record additional data with the phase change of the combined materials is selected as the materials of the first and second sub layers.
