The method involves forming, at top of a fragmented biomass (8), a surface on which a combustion bed is established and maintained at constant height due to ignition of the biomass. The ignition is produced in the bed by the usage of an oxidant (10) that is carried approximately at 800 degree Celsius and pulsed against the surface of the bed using several injectors. A temperature exchanging roof is situated above the bed and comprises partitions (7) between which heat transfer flow (11) issued from combustion flows. An independent claim is also included for a burner for implementing a combustion method.
