<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus and content display method in which video content data, wherein a desired performer performs, can be easily known by associating a performer's name with a face image extracted from actually recorded video content data. <P>SOLUTION: A TV application program 202 extracts a plurality of face images from stored video content data, extracts performer's names from program information corresponding to the video content data, and displays the extracted performer's names as name candidates when one face image is selected from among a plurality of extracted face images. When one performer's name is selected, the selected performer's name and the selected face image are associated and displayed as an icon.
