摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum-substituted &alpha;-type nickel hydroxide which scarcely contains impurities originated from organic substances and hardly transforms to a &beta;-type in an alkali environment, and a positive electrode active substance for a nickel ion secondary battery using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The manufacturing method comprises immersing a substrate in a reaction solution containing a nickel fluorinated complex in the presence of an aluminum electrolyte containing metal aluminum and/or aluminum ions (Al<SP>3+</SP>) to deposit an &alpha;-type nickel hydroxide on the substrate surface.
