<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller of an AC-powered vehicle which can carry out power failure detection more quickly and surely than power failure detection by a conventional technology even if an ac aerial wire has such a power failure that power supplied to the AC-powered vehicle is in a balanced state. <P>SOLUTION: The controller of the AC-powered vehicle includes a converter control unit 100 having a first phase-shifting circuit 31a that shifts the phase of a basic sine wave SIN to output the phase-shifted basic sine wave SIN to a third processing unit 34 and at least one of a plurality of phase-shifting circuits.
