<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining jig and a method of joining piping using the same capable of reducing the occurrence of cracks due to stress fluctuation in the piping and suitably joining a pair of pipes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The joining jig 1 used in joining the pair of piping 5, 5 composed of a thermoplastic material is equipped with: an endless belt 14 which is provided opposite to the inner peripheral surface of the joining part of the pair of pipes 5, 5 and can be deformed between a close contact state closely contacted to the inner peripheral surface and a separated state separated from the inner peripheral surface; and a backing metal 11 and a tapered part 12 which deform the endless belt 14 into the contact state and deform the endless belt 14 into the separated state.
