<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance efficiency of a refrigerating cycle device, by preventing leakage in a seal member of a scroll expander. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An annular seal member 5 for partitioning a central part and an outer peripheral part is arranged between the anti-lap side of a turning scroll 13 and an end surface of a main bearing member central part opposed to this side, and a high pressure working fluid or lubricating oil kept under high pressure is supplied to the central part, and an abutment 5a is arranged in the seal member 5. Since the ratio D/L of a clearance D of the abutment to the length L in the peripheral direction of the seal member is set to 0.007 or less, leakage of the lubricating oil from the seal member is effectively prevented, and the scroll expander used for a highly efficient refrigerating cycle device can be provided.
