A room divider (20), in particular for a hospital ward, comprises a screen (43), which is defined by a roller curtain mounted on a support element (21); the support element (21) is movable between a vertical position, in which the screen (43) is maintained in a closed configuration, and a horizontal position, in which the screen (43) can be lowered from the closed configuration to an stretched configuration and vice versa,- in the stretched configuration, the screen (43) hangs vertically to separate two areas in the room.
