PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impurity removal device and a method capable of removing surely and stably for a long period an organic impurity originated in a moving phase or an organic impurity originated in a device or piping, operable for a long period without stopping a system in analysis by a gradient elution method, and capable of keeping for a long period a stable state especially in quality control work of chemicals or the like. SOLUTION: In the online impurity removal device, a column filled with bead-shaped activated carbon is connected to a channel desired spot between a moving phase storage tank and an injector, in liquid chromatography using a polar solvent as the moving phase.
