PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator core capable of suppressing iron loss and saturation of magnetic flux by suppressing deviation of magnetic flux density: and to provide a rotary electric machine. SOLUTION: The stator core 200 has a plurality of slits 131 formed with a space in a circumferential direction. The stator core includes: an inner circumferential connection 214 formed on a part positioned inward the diameter direction of the stator core 200 for the slits 131; and an outer circumferential connection 213 formed on a part positioned outward the diameter direction for the slits 131. The cross sectional area S3 of the inner circumferential connection 214 along the diameter direction of the stator core 200 is smaller than the cross sectional area of the outer circumferential connection 213 along the diameter direction.
