PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for paper coating which has more excellent inhibitory effect on polysaccharide elusion than a conventionally well-known composition for paper coating, excellent enhancing effect on wet paper strength and sizing effect and a stable viscosity of coating composition. SOLUTION: The composition for paper coating comprises a water-dispersible polyisocyanate composition (A), a cationic polymer (B) having a cationic group and a hydrophobic group, and a polysaccharide (C). Preferably the water-dispersible polyisocyanate composition (A) is a water-dispersible polyisocyanate composition obtained by dispersing a hydrophobic polyisocyanate (a) into an aqueous medium with a vinyl-based polymer (b) having a nonionic hydrophilic group and an isocyanate group.
