PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cargo handling device of a cargo handling vehicle capable of preventing a cylinder device from being damaged due to the interruption of the replacement of a fork at a position where the cylinder device cannot be pulled out of each cylinder. SOLUTION: A mast device 3 of the load handling vehicle comprises a liftable carriage 9, detachable left and right forks 8, and the left and right cylinder devices 10 for adjusting the distance between the forks 8. Each cylinder device 10 comprises an extending and retracting rod 17, a connection part 22 to which the end 17a of the rod 17 is connected and which is provided at each fork 8, and stopper plates 49a, 49b for restricting the release of the connection of the rod 17 and the connection part 22 when the fork 8 is positioned between left and right masts 7. By this constitution, in a position where the connection of the stopper plates 22 and the rod 17 is not released, the release of the connection of the rod 17 and the connection part 22 is restricted by the stopper plates 49a, 49b, the replacement of each fork 8 is interrupted, and the cylinder device 10 is prevented from being damaged.
