<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer which avoids the splitting of new pages without printing in the page-unit-printing allowing continuation printing to the next page. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The printer includes a printing means printing on a printing sheet in a printing region set to be continuous from a header side to a footer side in a page unit; a splitting means allowing the splitting processing to the printing sheet at a midway splitting position inserted in the footer side from an image region; and a splitting process control part determining whether or not the image region and midway splitting position exceed the printing region toward the footer side in printing. The splitting process control part controls the printing means and splitting means so that the printing processing and splitting processing of the exceeded part are performed to be continued to the printing region of the next page and thereafter, when the image region exceeds the printing region, and the splitting processing is not performed, when the midway splitting position exceeds the printing region though the image region not exceeding the printing region.
