The paper machine clothing has a load bearing base structure, which extends in longitudinal and in lateral direction of the clothing. The transverse reinforcing module (1) is formed from a knit fabric, which is formed from a system of weft (2) extending parallel to each other in their length. A system of sewing threads (3) runs perpendicular to the longitudinal extension of the weft. The weft extend longitudinally inclined manner, particularly transverse to the longitudinal direction of the clothing and has a larger bending stiffness than the sewing thread. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a clothing, particularly press felt for a paper, cardboard or tissue machine.
