The device (10) has a sensor unit (12) for detecting characteristic of torque, and another sensor unit (14) provided for detecting characteristic of number of revolutions, where the sensors are partly single piece formed. The sensor units have a common sensor (16, 18) that emits a signal which contains information about angle of rotation. The sensors detect the characteristics in a contactless manner. The sensors are arranged in an axial direction (24) toward two facing sides (26, 28) of a drive unit (22). A torsion element (30) provides torsion between the sensors.
