A protrusion for use as a touch sensor and that protrudes toward a first substrate, an opposing electrode that covers a color filter and the protrusion for use as a touch sensor, and a spacer that regulates the thickness of a liquid crystal layer are formed on a second substrate. A touch electrode disposed opposite the protrusion for use as a touch sensor with the opposing electrode interposed is formed on the first substrate. In addition, the spacer and the protrusion for use as a touch sensor are both integrally formed of the same material and color for any of the pigmented layers of the color filter layer.
