[Also in Division B3] The stationary spindle 53, Fig. 3, on which the face-plate 55 (see Division B3), rotates is secured to the frame 12. The face-plate has an internal ring gear 59 with which meshes diametrically-opposed pinions 61, 62, Figs. 1 and 2. Rack pinion is driven through a separate gear train from a motor 90, Fig. 2. Since these gear trains are identical only that for pinion 61 is described. At the rear end of shaft 63 carrying pinion 61 a gear 65 is arranged driving a pinion 67 on shaft 69. This shaft carries freelyrotatable gears 74, 75, of different diameters which can be clutched selectively to the shaft by operation of clutch 81. These gears mesh with gears 88, 86, respectively, on a shaft 82 which at its rear end carries a gear 91. The latter meshes with a pinion 95 on the motor driven shaft 93. |
