<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a motor capable of reducing cogging torque while suppressing reduction in output, and also to provide an electric power steering device using the motor. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The motor includes: a stator or a rotor formed by laminating magnetic steel sheet in a motor axial line direction; a tooth winding part around which a winding is wound; and a tooth tip extended from an end in a motor radial direction of the tooth winding part to a motor rotation direction and formed in a nearly flat shape. The tooth winding part is formed nearly parallel to the motor axial line, and the center line extended in the motor axial line direction of the tooth tip crosses the tooth winding part at an angle θ. By such a configuration, the length of the winding wound around the tooth winding part does not become long, thereby suppressing the reduction in a motor output.
