The present invention relates to a digital language learning apparatus. The apparatus is essentially a digital compressed file player which simulates conventional language learning apparatuses that use cassette tapes, and has separate push buttons for language learning and for listening to music, which enable users to feel as if they are using a cassette tape player without the tiresome effort of using excessive finger action. The digital language learning apparatus of the present invention employs a semiconductor memory to store large-sized language learning files which overcomes the short reproduction duration problem of cassette tapes. The digital language learning apparatus has an automatic review function which features compressed voice files (MP3, WMA, etc.) which store history data involving switch operations performed for reproduction of language learning files, and automatically reproduces relevant language learning files in the same manner as the user recorded most recently when the user reviews the relevant language learning files. The history data include addresses, values, etc. stored in the memory which map time points at which the push buttons for only language learning (play, cue, and review switches, etc.) were used for reproducing relevant language learning files. |
